Quetta Cantt Schools Shut for Five Days Amid Security Measures

A major security alert has prompted authorities to close all schools and colleges within the Quetta Cantonment area for five days, beginning Wednesday, in an effort to safeguard students and staff. Officials confirmed that educational institutions in the Quetta Garrison will remain closed from November 12 to November 16 as part of strengthened security protocols being enforced across Balochistan.

The precautionary move coincides with a province-wide suspension of internet and mobile data services. According to the Home Department, connectivity across most of Balochistan has been halted from November 10 to November 16, though the official notification exempts the provincial capital. Despite this exemption, several residents in parts of Quetta have reported experiencing disruptions in both mobile signals and internet access.
