Begum CM Punjab Unveils Street Art Exhibition at UHE

The University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore witnessed the inauguration of an exhibition showcasing street art, officiated by Begum Chief Minister Punjab, Dr Warda Mohsin Naqvi.

The ceremony brought together a distinguished gathering, including Acting Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Faleeha Zahra Kazmi, Registrar Shujaat Muneef Qureshi, Dr Tayyaba Sohail, along with faculty members and enthusiastic students.

The showcased artworks were a testament to the creative prowess of students specializing in fine art, visual communication design, and media and mass communication studies.

During her address to the students, Dr Warda Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the unique educational opportunities available for women and urged them to actively contribute to societal development. Encouraging the pursuit of ambitious dreams, she underscored the pivotal role women play in shaping a brighter future for the nation. Dr Warda also highlighted the potency of street art as a dynamic medium for addressing social issues.

Dr Faleeha Zahra Kazmi reiterated the university’s commitment to providing exceptional educational facilities, citing the establishment of the Financial Aid Office, Student Facility Center, and Career and Placement Center. She disclosed ongoing collaborations with alumni for the implementation of new development programs within the university. Dr Kazmi emphasized the autonomy of students in selecting artworks for display, a choice driven by personal interests aimed at skill enhancement.

The exhibition featured the creative endeavors of approximately 40 students, guided by Zainab Alim, Lecturer of Visual Communication Design (VCD), who served as the curator for this remarkable showcase of artistic talent.
