BSEK Strengthens Privacy Measures for Girls

The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has introduced strict new measures to ensure the privacy and dignity of female students appearing in the ongoing 9th and 10th grade examinations across the city.

According to an official statement, Chairman Ghulam Hussain Soho directed all examination centers to maintain a respectful and secure environment for female candidates. He explicitly instructed staff not to ask female students to remove veils, including burqas or abayas, during security checks or entry procedures.

The directive follows reports indicating that girls’ examination centers have so far maintained a clean record, with no complaints of cheating. Officials see this as evidence that strict but respectful monitoring can be implemented without compromising students’ dignity.

Reinforcing the seriousness of the directive, the chairman warned that any violation by examination staff would result in strict disciplinary action. He further ordered that no male invigilators or supervisory staff be assigned to centers designated exclusively for female students, ensuring an added layer of privacy and comfort.
