Chinese President Xi Jinping and visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin jointly attended the opening ceremony of the China-Russia Years of Education at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday, signaling a new phase in bilateral cooperation focused on education, innovation, and youth exchanges.
Speaking at the ceremony, Xi Jinping emphasized that educational cooperation between China and Russia has expanded significantly over the years and has become an important pillar of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in the new era. Russian President Vladimir Putin described the launch of the Russia-China Years of Education as a milestone in bilateral relations. He said educational cooperation would help strengthen understanding among younger generations and ensure that the friendship between Russia and China continues for generations to come.
Putin added that Moscow is prepared to work closely with Beijing to deepen educational collaboration and promote stronger bilateral relations through academic and cultural engagement.
