The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has unveiled a new internship initiative aimed at equipping students with practical skills and improving their transition from academic life to the professional world.
The decision was finalized during a comprehensive briefing presented to Provincial Minister for Education Arshad Ayub Khan, where the framework of the Ehsaas Internship Program was formally outlined.
Under the proposed plan, Bachelor of Studies (BS) students will be offered internship placements ranging from two to six months. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 25,000, providing both financial support and hands-on industry experience.
Officials said the program is specifically designed to address the gap between theoretical education and market-driven skills, a challenge faced by many graduates entering the workforce.
To ensure merit-based selection, eligibility has been limited to students currently enrolled in universities and degree colleges across the province who maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0.

The education department has been directed to collaborate closely with higher education institutions to facilitate the smooth implementation of the initiative. Authorities believe the program will not only enhance students’ employability but also contribute to building a more skilled and competitive workforce in the province.
