In a proud moment for Pakistan, students from the University of Sargodha (UoS) have achieved remarkable success in the prestigious “All Pakistan Chinese Bridge Competition 2025,” organized by the Chinese Language and Education Center, Beijing. The event served as a platform not just for linguistic and artistic excellence, but for advancing cultural diplomacy and fostering deeper ties between Pakistan and China.
Held online in two distinct phases, the competition drew participants from Confucius Institutes across Pakistani universities. The first phase featured a speech contest under the theme “One World, One Family”, while the second phase allowed students to showcase traditional Chinese arts including music, calligraphy, painting, and Tai Chi.
Among the standout performers was Ayesha Rafiqat, a student at the Confucius Institute, University of Sargodha, who secured third place in both the speech and music categories. Her achievement symbolizes the fusion of academic dedication and cultural appreciation promoted at UOS.
Additional recognition was awarded to Lab and Jaweria Iqbal, who received certificates of appreciation and prizes for their contributions, further elevating the university’s profile on the national and international stage.
UOS TV, the university’s vibrant media platform, was also honored with a cash prize for its exceptional efforts in promoting the event and celebrating the students’ achievements through digital storytelling and coverage.
Expressing his delight, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Sargodha commended the students’ performance and emphasized the importance of cultural programs in nurturing global citizens. “Our students are not only learning new languages and skills, but they are also becoming ambassadors of peace and cooperation. UOS remains committed to such academic and cultural engagements to reinforce Pakistan-China friendship,” he stated.
The Director of the Confucius Institute at UOS echoed these sentiments, highlighting that the success reflects the institute’s mission to foster intercultural understanding. “The dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm of our students are a source of great pride. They are building bridges where words and art transcend borders.”
UOS has increasingly positioned itself as a hub for global learning and collaboration. Through initiatives like the Confucius Center and the Pakistan Institute of China Studies, the university continues to advance educational and scientific partnerships with China.
This international recognition underscores the growing role of Pakistani youth in shaping a more connected and cooperative world. As they represent the country on global platforms, students like Ayesha, Lab, and Jaweria embody the spirit of unity, progress, and mutual respect.
