In a strong endorsement of skill-based education, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK), Prof Dr Nadeem Haider Bukhari, emphasized the vital role of communication skills in today’s academic and professional landscapes. He was addressing the closing ceremony of a three-day workshop on “21st Century Communication Skills” held at the Lincoln Corner, City Campus, and organized by the Scholars College of Sciences and Information Technology.
Calling students of affiliated public and private colleges “an integral part of the UAJK academic family,” the Vice-Chancellor reiterated the university’s commitment to offering quality education and a nurturing learning environment across all its associated institutions.
“Effective communication is a foundational skill for success in any field,” Prof Bukhari stated. “Workshops like this empower students to express themselves confidently, engage in productive collaboration, and meet the demands of an increasingly complex world.”
He commended Scholars College for spearheading such a practical initiative and praised its management for promoting co-curricular development alongside academic learning. “The active engagement of affiliated colleges in holistic student development reflects our shared vision for educational excellence,” he said.
Managing Director of Scholars College, Syed Iftikhar Hussain Kazmi, expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for his support and insightful remarks. He acknowledged UAJK’s continuous academic leadership and reaffirmed the private sector’s commitment to aligning with the university’s academic standards.
The workshop featured expert sessions led by Dr Syed Zaki ul Hassan, Assistant Professor, and Dr Mubashar Naqvi, Public Relations Officer at AJKU. Their presentations covered a broad range of topics, including modern communication strategies, media literacy, and essential interpersonal skills tailored to the demands of the 21st century.
The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, where participants were awarded for their active involvement. The Vice-Chancellor, along with college leadership, also presented souvenirs to the resource persons in appreciation of their contributions.
