Sindh to Hire 90000 Teachers in Landmark Education Reform

In a significant move to uplift Sindh’s education system, the provincial government has unveiled an ambitious plan to recruit 90,000 additional teachers, signaling a major step toward addressing teacher shortages and enhancing classroom learning.

So far, 83,000 educators have already been hired, according to officials. The update was shared by Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah during a performance review session chaired by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Shah confirmed that offer letters are currently being issued to candidates who successfully passed the IBA screening test. The recruitment drive, part of a broader reform strategy, has already begun to show a positive impact on the quality of education in the province.

“These new appointments are not just filling vacancies — they are raising the overall teaching standards across Sindh,” Shah said. “We are committed to ensuring that every child has access to quality education.”

The review meeting also highlighted other key reforms, including the modernization of school infrastructure and improved learning facilities. Officials noted that these efforts are designed to bring long-term transformation to the education sector, making it more responsive to current and future challenges.

Education experts and civil society groups have welcomed the initiative, calling it a critical investment in the province’s future.
