Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood has denied any budgetary cut in the allocation of fund for Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan. Responding to the queries put forth by students and educationists, following his thorough presentation on “Education System of Pakistan: Challenges and Way Forward” organized by Karachi School of Business and Leadership (KSBL) on Thursday, he dismissed the news concerning slashing of HEC budgetary allocations.

Technology is a game changer and the government is striving to introduce technology at different levels of education, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood said on Friday. Addressing the Pakistan Summit 2019 in Islamabad, he said the government was committed to improving the standard of education and was striving hard to deliver results.

The federal government has allocated an amount of Rs 749 million for setting up seven new educational institutes in Islamabad Capital Territory, along with the up gradation of seven old public sector schools and colleges in the federal capital. Per details , the decision has been taken under the Ministry of Education and Professional Training’s plan for the upgrading educational institutes that are functional under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).

Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood has said skills building and development were crucial to ensuring youth employability prospects, as 65 percent youg population of the country would fail to secure jobs without technical education .

Addressing the launch ceremony of “Training of Master Trainers” organized by National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) on Monday, the minister said “our education sector holds no linkages” with the local industry due to which our PhDs have limited job prospects.
