Vice-Chancellor of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK), Prof Dr Nadeem Haider Bukhari, has underscored the need to invest in the youth by providing them with modern skills, technological expertise, and strong Islamic values. Describing the youth as the nation’s greatest asset, he said they must be guided with wisdom to unlock their full potential and play a meaningful role in Pakistan’s development.

He expressed these views while addressing a special event held at UAJK’s Chella Campus under the banner of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP). Speaking as the Chief Guest, Prof. Bukhari praised the Prime Minister’s initiative, calling it a step in the right direction. He said the responsibility of nurturing the youth lies collectively with the government, educational institutions, parents, and society.

The Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of discipline, goal setting, and hard work. He urged students to use their time and digital resources responsibly and cited the inspiring example of Olympian Arshad Nadeem as a role model who achieved excellence despite limited means.

Muhammad Ali Malik, Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, shared insights into the vision and achievements of the PMYP. He presented several success stories of young Pakistanis who have benefitted from the program and outlined upcoming initiatives, including skill development opportunities and interest-free loans, designed to support youth financially and professionally.

The event was attended by senior university officials, government representatives, faculty members, and a large number of students.
