The selection process for scholarships provided by the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) and Allah Walay Trust (AWT) was conducted meticulously over two days, May 4th and 5th, 2024. Held within the professional confines of the conference room at the AWT office, this initiative aimed to identify and support deserving students at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF).

A total of 137 scholarships were generously granted, encompassing a comprehensive range of expenses essential for students’ academic pursuits. These scholarships covered not only tuition fees but also addressed vital aspects such as hostel accommodations, mess charges, transportation costs, and even monthly stipends, thereby ensuring that financial constraints did not impede deserving students from accessing higher education.

Facilitating this process were esteemed individuals committed to educational empowerment. Dr. Khalid Manzoor Butt, serving as the Director of the Scholarship Program at AWT, spearheaded these efforts, alongside Dr. Shazia Lone, the Finance Secretary at AWT. Their collective expertise and dedication ensured the integrity and effectiveness of the selection process.

Furthermore, the involvement of Mr. Qazi Muhammad Ali, Assistant Director of Punjab HEC, underscored the collaborative nature of this endeavor, highlighting the concerted efforts of both governmental and non-governmental entities to uplift the educational landscape.

In addition to these key figures, the panel conducting the interviews comprised individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise. Dr. Asim Farooqi, a former MS PDH, brought valuable insights, while Rana Hassan, representing AWT, provided perspectives aligned with the organization’s mission and values. Dr. Sadia’s inclusion further enriched the panel with her expertise and commitment to educational excellence.

Together, these individuals formed a formidable team, dedicated to identifying and supporting talented students, thereby enabling them to realize their academic aspirations and contribute meaningfully to society. Through their collective efforts, the scholarship program not only alleviated financial burdens but also fostered a culture of academic excellence and inclusivity within the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, and beyond.
