UVAS holds 2nd Business Plan Competition Drive Finale

The Directorate of Business Incubation Center (BIC) at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore recently concluded its “UVAS 2nd Business Plan Competition Drive (Phase-II) Finale,” showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit and innovative ideas of students from various campuses.

Ten teams representing different campuses of UVAS participated in the competition, presenting their business plans to a panel of judges. The event aimed to provide students with a platform to develop their business acumen, refine their startup ideas, and enhance their entrepreneurial skills.

Emerging as the victors of the competition was the P&P Stitching team from the Jhang Campus, claiming the coveted 1st position and a cash prize of 50,000 rupees. Following closely behind was the SKZ Creativity team from the City Campus, securing the 2nd position and a cash prize of 40,000 rupees. Meanwhile, the Veterinary Toxicology Kit team from KBCMA-CVAS in Narowal clinched the 3rd position, earning a cash prize of 30,000 rupees.

The finale ceremony, presided over by Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof Dr. Aneela Zameer Durrani, was a celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship. Dr. Durrani distributed cash prizes among the winning teams and commended the students for their efforts in showcasing creative business ideas.

The event was attended by Deputy Director of BIC, Assistant Director of BIC Qasim Hussain, along with numerous students and faculty members. Their presence underscored the university’s commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem and supporting the aspirations of its students.

Speaking on the significance of the competition, Dr. Durrani highlighted its role in inspiring UVAS students to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career path. She emphasized the importance of nurturing innovative thinking and providing avenues for students to transform their ideas into successful ventures.

The UVAS Business Plan Competition not only provided a platform for students to showcase their entrepreneurial talents but also served as a catalyst for future innovation and economic growth. By encouraging students to think creatively and develop practical solutions to real-world problems, UVAS continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of entrepreneurs in Pakistan.
