Punjab University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood, emphasized the profound message of progress encapsulated in the Holy Quran during an event organized by the Punjab University (PU) Center for Quran and Sunnah. Addressing the distribution ceremony of the Holy Quran with translation, Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood stressed that adherence to the Quranic teachings leads to success both in this world and the hereafter.

Accompanied by distinguished figures including Dean Faculty of Islamic Studies, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hammad Lakhvi, Director of Islamic Research Center at Bahauddin Zakaria University (BZU) Multan, Prof. Dr. Abdul Qudoos Sohaib, Director of the Center for Quran and Sunnah, Dr. Haris Mobeen, and faculty members from various departments, Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood underscored the importance of embodying Quranic principles to effectively propagate the message of Islam.

He reiterated that the guidance provided in the Holy Quran is eternal and immutable, serving as a beacon of light until the end of time. Emphasizing the significance of Quranic teachings in revitalizing Islamic society, he expressed gratitude to the organizers, speakers, and participants for their contributions to the event.

Dr. Abdul Qudoos Sohaib emphasized the pivotal role of educators in fostering societal transformation, lauding the efforts of former principal of Nishtar Medical College, Multan, Prof. Dr. Shabbir Ahmad Nasir, for his commendable initiative in distributing translated copies of the Quran among university faculty members.

Echoing similar sentiments, Dr. Muhammad Hammad Lakhvi highlighted the transformative power of Quranic guidance, asserting that adherence to its teachings ensures steadfastness and guidance in one’s life. He lamented the detachment of Muslims from their religious roots, attributing contemporary challenges to this phenomenon.

Dr. Haris Mobeen underscored the profound impact of embracing the Quran in leading a fulfilling life, expressing gratitude to Dr. Abdul Qudoos and Dr. Shabbir Ahmed Nasir for their generous gesture in providing translated copies of the Quran to Punjab University teachers.

The event concluded with a renewed commitment to embody the teachings of the Holy Quran and propagate its message for the betterment of society.

The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) has unveiled the Ramadan 2024 Timings for educational institutes in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

As per the official notice on the Ramadan 2024 Timings, institutes will operate from 8:30 AM to 1 PM, Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, they will open at the same time but close at 12:30 PM. The directive emphasizes strict adherence to the timings.

Earlier, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) had also issued Ramadan 2024 timings for schools and colleges in Islamabad.

For single-shift institutions, operation hours are from 8:30 AM to 1 PM, Monday to Thursday, with an early closure at 12:30 PM on Fridays.

In double-shift institutions, the morning session runs from 8 AM to 12:30 PM every weekday. Evening sessions operate from 1 PM to 5 PM Monday through Thursday and from 1:30 PM on Fridays.

Ex-FG colleges will follow a schedule mirroring single-shift institutions, opening from 8:30 AM to 1 PM Monday through Thursday, with Friday closing at 12:30 PM.

In a significant announcement concerning the education sector, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has made the decision to incorporate the Punjabi language as a subject in schools.

Addressing attendees at a ceremony hosted at Alhamra Hall for Punjab Culture Day, CM Punjab expressed gratitude to the citizens of the province for their trust in her leadership.

She emphasized the resilience of Punjabi women and their essential roles within their families. Additionally, CM Punjab encouraged parents to educate their children in Punjabi and pledged support for the revival of Punjabi cinema.

Reflecting on Punjab’s rich cultural heritage, Maryam Nawaz expressed concern about the declining sense of pride associated with the Punjabi language.

The Chief Minister was greeted by Provincial Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, upon her arrival at the ceremony. Bokhari praised the province’s first CM for her dedication to promoting Punjabi culture.

The gathering was attended by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, the Chief Secretary, Secretary of Information and Culture, and other dignitaries.
