The School Education and Literacy Department Steering Committee on Wednesday announced winter vacations to be observed from December 20 to January 1 in all public and private educational institutions. However, the schools will be reopening on January 3.
Earlier, the SLED sectary Ghulam Akbar Leghari while chairing a meeting of the working committee decided a 12-day winter vacation starting from 20th December which will continue till January 2 while educational institutions in Sindh will be reopened on January 3, 2022.
The notification would be issued after approval from Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah. One of the SLED officials told education reporters that the meeting was informed that since the curriculum has been changed and subjects have been increased in the ninth and tenth classes under the new scheme of studies, the holidays could not be extended.
