25th Queen Mary College Lahore Convocation Held

Queen Mary College Lahore held its 25th Convocation Ceremony on Tuesday, with Provincial Minister of Punjab for Higher Education and Tourism Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfraz attending as the chief guest.

Addressing the students, Humayun encouraged the students and appreciated the efforts of the college to promote education. He said high quality curriculum, well trained teachers and eager students were essential for economic development of the country.

He said Queen Mary College took pride in its great tradition and the students who passed out from this college truly deserved praise. He said students were an asset that would ensure a bright future of the country.

Humayun hoped the graduates would go on to become leaders and “lay foundations of a prosperous Pakistan”.

Addressing the participants, the college principal said progress and development of any country depended on the education of its women. “In a developing country like Pakistan, participation of women is pivotal for the social and economic development of the country. In today’s world the role of women in the economic, political and moral development of the society cannot be undermined and that education lays the foundation for that development,” she said.

During the convocation, degrees were conferred to 463 students of BA, BSc, BS Honours and MA.

Moreover, medals were awarded to distinction holders among which 57 received gold medals, 51 students received silver medals, while rolls of honor were awarded to at least 343 students.
