BSEK holds CCOs responsible for leaking question paper

Responding to the media reports, The Board of Secondary Education Karachi  held the Central Control Officer (CCO) responsible for the delayed delivery of question papers to the examinations on the first day the Secondary School Certificate Annual Exams 2021.

The BSEK would take legal action against the absent CCOs. In this regard, the board has set up a three-member committee comprising senior officers namely Hur Mazhar, Khalid Ehsan and Syed Munir Hassan. The committee will submit its report to the chairman within two days.

In a statement, the BSEK spokesperson has said that the physics paper was started late in some of the examination centers due to which examiners and students faced severe problems. However, BSEK Controller Examinations Syed Mohammad Ali Shaiq immediately responded to resolve the matter and he allowed the examiners to give extra time to the candidates of those centers where question papers were delivered late.

To manage the distribution of the papers, the board has established 11 Central Examination Hubs all over Karachi. Along with the distribution of question papers, it was also the responsibility of the board officials to distribute thermometers and facemask to implement the Covid-19 SOPs. But some CCOs didn’t approach the CEH. This is why mismanagement was observed during the exams.

Now the board has decided to increase the number of CEHs from 11 to 18. The letters of all CCOs have been canceled. Therefore, all the superintendents or their authorized representatives can easily obtain the examination papers by sending a letter of authority to the Central Examination Center.
