Christmas celebrations Held at GCU

LAHORE: The Government College University Lahore faculty, staff members and students celebrated Christmas with the university’s Christian community. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Asghar Zaidi and Guest of Honor Dr. Bishop Azad Marshall cut the Christmas cake with the university’s Christian staff and faculty members.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Asghar Zaidi said that GCU had always stood out for promoting tolerance and religious harmony. He hoped that the second wave of COVID-19 would be over soon and they would hold a bigger event with the families on Easter.

Bishop Azad Marshall said that all religions teach peace. He said Christmas was a time of delight, sharing the joys and sufferings of others, acceptance, forgiveness, reconciliation, celebrations and promoting love and peace.

Dr Peter John from the university’s Chemistry Department also spoke on the occasion.

The Christian community expressed gratitude and said that Christmas gave the message of peace and love to all humanity.
