The first anniversary of Dr Aijaz Fatima, the founder and trustee of Dr Ziauddin Hospital and mother of Dr Asim Hussain (SI, NI), Former Federal Minister for Petroleum & Natural Resources, was observed yesterday.
Dr. Aijaz Fatima passed away on May 27 last year at the age of 96 after a long illness. She was a seasoned gynecologist in Pakistan. She devoted her entire life to the field of medicine.
Dr Aijaz Fatima along with her husband Dr Tajmal Hussain founded Ziauddin Hospital in 1957 in the name of her father Sir Dr Ziauddin Ahmad. Sir Dr Ziauddin Ahmad was a far-sighted politician, an educationist, scholar and the first Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), a public university in Aligarh, India. Dr Aijaz Fatima was a very hardworking and committed woman. He founded one of the largest healthcare institutions in the country.
Yesterday, on the occasion of Dr Aijaz Fatima’s first death anniversary, we pay tribute to her for her outstanding services in the field of medicine. May Allah forgive Dr Aijaz Fatima and grant her a higher rank in His mercy. Amen
