Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences and Technology (FUUAST) VC Prof Dr Athar Ata visited the Baba-e-Urdu grave located on the Abdul Haq campus. There he met with faculty members and staffers of the varsity.

Baba-e-Urdu (Father of Urdu) Maulvi Abdul Haq (20 April 1870 – 16 August 1961) was a scholar and a linguist, who demanded for Urdu to be made the national language of Pakistan.

The FUUAST VC has said that the problems of the employees of the University of Urdu will be solved without any discrimination and the rights of all employees will be protected.

He instructed those staffers of the varsity should fulfill their responsibilities as per the rules and play a professional role in putting the university on the right track.

During a meeting with the VC, Adnan Akhtar, President, Association of Non-Teaching Employees, Gulshan Campus, said Urdu University has been suffering from administrative difficulties for a long time but it is hoped that the new VC will remove the obstacles in the way of development of the university. The VC would take the faculty and staff into confidence. Together we can put Urdu University back on the path of development.
