FUUAST students win 5th position in Short Film Competition at UMT

The students of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) Karachi’s Department of Mass Communication won the 5th position by participating in the short film competition organized by the University of Management and Technology (UMT) Lahore, Project Reconnect Films Award 2022, and BARD Foundation.

Huzaifa Zahoor, Zarukh Khan, and Shoaib also received a cash prize of 20 thousand rupees. They presented a short film called “BHOOK”. Students from more than 40 universities across the country participated in the competition. Huzaifa Zahoor received the award by participating in the closing ceremony held at the UMT, Lahore along with lecturer Tahira Tariq.

The occasion was graced by the presence of well-known marketing industry gurus and officials from several media schools. All of the guests, including chief guest Dr Asif Raza – rector UMT, were welcomed by Dean School of Media and Communication Studies (SMCS – UMT), Prof Dr Anjum Zia.

The support, encouragement and guidance of the VC, Dr Irfan Aziz, Dr Masroor Khanam, Dr Tahira Tariq, Dr Huma Nisar, were involved in this competition. The FUUAST VC Prof Dr Athar Ata congratulated the students for participating in the competition and said that he will always encourage the students to participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
