The eight-member Iranian experts’ delegation, led by Dr. Ali Morteza Birang, the senior official of the Mustafa Prize Foundation, arrived at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, Karachi University on Monday evening.
Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, and COMSTECH Coordinator General welcomed the foreign delegation.
Spokesman of the ICCBS University of Karachi said on Tuesday that three more Iranian scientists, including Prof. Hossein Bharvand, Dr. Ashtiani Mohammad Kazemi, and Dr. Saeed Abbasalizadeh will also arrive on Wednesday. He said that these Iranian experts belonging to top biotechnology industries and research institutions of Iran, in their visit, will have various meetings with Pakistani officials, including Prof. Atta-ur-Rahman, ICCBS Patron-in-chief and Chairman of Prime Minister’s Task Force on Science and Technology, Sindh Minister for Health & Population Welfare Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, Prof. Dr. Khalid Iraqi, Vice Chancellor University of Karachi, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, and COMSTECH Coordinator General, and officials of many Pakistani pharmaceutical companies.
The spokesman said Iranian officials would also sign various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Pakistani institutions, including ICCBS – University of Karachi.
The delegation comprises 11 Iranian experts, including Dr. Ali Morteza Birang, Mr. Ghulam Hussain Halvaei, Prof. Hossein Bharvand, Dr. Ashtiani Mohammad Kazemi, Dr. Saeed Abbasalizadeh, Mr. Mostafa Movafagh Yami, Mr. Mohammad Amin Ghobadi, Mr. Hadi Rabiei, Mr. Sajjad Pezeshki Najafabadi, Mrs. Elaheh Aali, and M. Morteza Jaffar Aghaei, the spokesman said, adding that the delegation will depart after a week
