Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) and Government College University (GCU) Lahore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the quality of education and improve educational policies in Punjab.

The MoU was signed by Managing Director PEF, Manzar Javed Ali, and Vice Chancellor GCU, Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi, at a ceremony held at GCU. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Managing Director (Operation) Qurat ul Ain Memon, Director (Research and Coordination) Dr Nauman Jameel Khan, Pro-Chancellor Dr Adnan, Registrar Dr Shaukat, Controller Muhammad Shahzad, and Director External Linkages Dr Sufyan.

As per the MoU, GCU Research Scholars, BS (Hons), MPhil, MS, and PhD students will conduct academic research on PEF educational projects. PEF will provide research grants to the researchers to encourage research in the education sector.

During the ceremony, MD PEF Manzar Javed Ali reiterated the commitment of PEF to providing quality education to the children of Punjab. He said that the research findings from this partnership with GC University will help PEF make informed decisions and formulate policies that can improve the education system in Punjab.

Vice-Chancellor GCU Lahore Dr Asghar Zaidi, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of PEF in the field of education under the PEF Public-Private Partnership model. He also reiterated GCU’s commitment to academic research.

At the end of the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Government College University briefed MD Punjab Education Foundation Manzar Javed Ali, Deputy Managing Director (Operation) Qaratul Ain Memon, and Director (Research and Coordination) Dr Nauman Jameel Khan about the history of GC University in detail and also gave them a tour of some of the university’s departments.

Both institutions expressed their confidence in the partnership and believe that it will lead to meaningful collaborations and a positive impact on the education sector in Punjab.
