PU Library Book Club organizes introductory Talks

Punjab University (PU) Library Book Club arranged the book talk program. The two books of the month were “Munh wal Kaabay Shareef (Safar Nama e Hajj)” by renowned writer Mustansar Hussian Tarar and “Of Strangers and Bees: A Hayy Ibn Yaqzan tale” by Hamid Ismailov. Director Punjab University Institute of Urdu Language and Literature Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran presented the talk on Mustansar Hussain Tarar’s travelogue of Hajj. He narrated the literary style of the book and discussed the personal and social remunerations of this sacred journey along with sharing his personal experiences of this visit in the recent past.

The introduction to the English translation of an Uzbek novel was presented by Assistant Professor Punjab University Institute of English Studies Dr Shahzeb Khan. He described the main plot and literary style of the novel which was about wisdom and self-realization. Punjab University’s Chief Librarian Dr Muhammad Haroon Usmani thanked the speakers and participants, especially a large number of online participants, for their lively contribution to the program.

Punjab University Library has its collection in 9 major national and international languages and different types like print material, CDs, DVDs, Floppies, Microfilms, Microfiches, Video and Audio Cassettes and Manuscripts. Punjab University Library also has audio visual facilities for its readers like, TV, VCR, CD/DVD Drives, Multimedia projector, Microfilm and Microfiche reader/printers.
