Govt Queen Mary Graduate College on Friday organized annual sports day. On the occasion, chief guest was Syeda Afshan Javed Bukhari, the wife of Secretary Higher Education Department, Principal Dr.Samra Imran received the chief guest and students presented bouquet to the guest.

The event was started with the recitation of Holy Quran and Naat-e- Rasool Maqbool (S.A). Then the Principal along with chief guest cut the college birthday cake. On the occasion, school and college students presented well-disciplined march past and salute, PT, physical exercises, Karate and Gymnastics. The students also presented beautiful and colourful cultural show which presented cultures of all provinces of Pakistan.

Addressing to the students Principal Dr. Samra Imran presented the annul college report in which she highlighted the success story of different competitions. She explained that Home Economics department won first three prizes in Inter Collegiate Festival organized in Baghbanpura. She said the students of music department won one silver and one brown medal in all Pakistan music conference.

She also explained many different prizes won by the college. She said that the girls education is very important for the healthy society. She said that he credit goes to Queen Mary Graduate College for imparting education to the students. The college also teaches good traditions, obedience and practice of laws to the students. At the end she thanked the chief guest and congratulated the students and teachers for presenting a beautiful sports day.

Chief guest Syeda Afshan Javed Bukhari said Govt Queen Mary Graduate College is providing the best educational facilities to the girls along with extracurricular activities. She said that along with education, mental and physical health is very important so such events must be organized. She further stated that today the whole world is passing through Covid-19 pandemic and repeated lock downs, which had limitzed the human activities and today’s ceremony is a source to come out for the tense situation. She also highlighted the importance of tree plantation and advised the audience to plant trees for a healthy Pakistan. At the end she appreciated the efforts of college Principal and teachers.

At the end of the event, the College Principal along with Chief Guest presented shields to the participants. On the occasion, the retired college section Heads, staff and students were presents.
