Over 2500 students participate in 3-day art competition

A 3-days Sky Art International Workshop was started under Crescent Art Gallery in collaboration with JS Bank at Frere Hall. More than 2500 students from all over the country are participating in the art competition.

Provincial Minister for Education and Culture Sindh Syed Sardar Ali Shah cut the ribbon and inaugurated the event. President Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi Ahmad Shah, Chief Operating Officer of JS Bank Imran Haleem Shaikh, Chairman of Crescent Nasir Javed, CEO Sameer Nasir, Senior Artist Chitrapritam, Qamar Siddiqui, Senior Artist Zamr Shahid from Quetta, Khawaja Khalil, Shah Amrohi, Abdul Jabbar and others were also present. Addressing the gathering, Sardar Ali Shah said that the country’s art would be based on modern lines. More than one thousand students holding degree in Fine Arts will be recruited as Art Teachers.

Later this number will be increased to 5,000. Addressing the gathering, Ahmad Shah said that more concerted steps would be taken for the exhibition and auction of artists’ paintings. Sameer Nasir said that for the first time in the history of the country an art competition is being organized in which more than 2500 students are participating.

Chairman CAG Nasir Javed said that the services of the Provincial Minister for Culture and President Arts Council for the development of art were commendable. Chitrapritam said that we are doing our best to guide the students. Scholarships will be awarded to the successful students of Art Competition
