The federal government has allocated an amount of Rs 749 million for setting up seven new educational institutes in Islamabad Capital Territory, along with the up gradation of seven old public sector schools and colleges in the federal capital. Per details , the decision has been taken under the Ministry of Education and Professional Training’s plan for the upgrading educational institutes that are functional under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).
Various public sector schools and colleges of the capital were added in the up-gradation list to be completed during the fiscal years 2019-20. Among the new education institutes to be established in the current fiscal year, Rs 20 million has been assigned for Islamabad Model School for Boys Gorra Shahan, while the total estimated cost of the project would be Rs 421 million.
Per sources, Rs 200 million has been allocated for setting up Islamabad Model College for Girls G-13/1, while the total expenditure of the project would be Rs 421 million. Moreover, Rs 175 million has been assigned for the establishment of Boys Model College G-15, Rs 150 million for Boys Model College Pakistan Town, and Rs 50 million for Boys Model College G-13/2.
A Boys Model College would also be established in sector B-17 and would cost around Rs 50 million, while a similar amount has been apportioned for setting up Girls Model College in G-14/4 as well. Under the up gradation process, buying of new lab equipment and furniture, along with additional construction will take place in Islamabad Model College G-9/4 and will cost around Rs 20 million.
Moreover, Rs 10 million and Rs 20 million have been allocated for the construction of boundary walls in Islamabad Model College I-8/3 and Lohi Bhair Model College, respectively , while Rs 20 million has been reserved for the up-gradation of Baain Nolla Model School for Girls.
Around Rs 10 million would be used for setting up a new building of Islamabad Model School for Girls Tarlai, while Rs 50 million has been assigned for revamping Islamabad Model College for Boys Bhara Kahu. Moreover, Rs 50 million has been assigned for the Islamabad Model College Margalla Town, the sources briefed.
The Ministry of Federal Education has also suggested allocating a massive sum of Rs 949 million for the fiscal year 2019-20, under the Public Sector Development Projects (PSDP) for the establishment and renovation of model schools and colleges in the federal capital.
