The education department of Punjab, on Monday, announced the news of summer vacations and also gave a new schedule for the upcoming academic session 2022-23 for all the schools of the province. Along with Punjab, the education department of Sindh has also announced summer vacations and the new academic schedule for the next session.
The orders are supposed to be implemented by all the private and public schools of Punjab. According to the details, the vacations will end and the new academic session will start from the August of this year. Considering the sudden and intense outbreak of summer, the summer vacations will start after about two and a half months from now. The duration of the summer vacation will be two months. This means that the vacations will start on June 1st, 2022, and end on July 31st, 2022 as per the notification.
As far as the examination schedule is concerned, the notification explains that it will start and end in May for grades I to VIII.
According to the notification given by the Sindh government, the new academic year session 2022 -23 will also start from the 1st of August. Moreover, it has also been announced that the examinations for grades IV to VIII will start from May 2nd, 2022. Whereas, the matriculation exams are said to be started from May 17th, 2022. The results of the examination will be announced near the end of vacations i.e. July 17th and the admissions for the new classes will be open from July 1st to July 31st.
The Sindh Education Department has also made clear the pattern of board exams. According to the information provided by the committee, the exams will consist of 40 percent objective type questions (MCQs) and 60 percent subjective type questions (short and long questions).
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, it is the first time that Punjab and Sindh governments have announced summer vacations like they used to be before. The students are hoping to have a normal and educationally productive year ahead.
